Welcome Valentina!

It is with great pleasure that we will like to announce the birth of baby Valentina.

She was born last Saturday, February 21st, around 8:30 am, at a local Hospital in the city of La Paz.  With  3.570 kilos (almost 8 pounds!) and 51 cm long; Valentina is a beautiful and healthy baby.  Mummy and baby are fine and enjoying themselves at this time.

This is such a time of joy and happiness for Ileana & Axxel and the rest of their family.  We share their joy and wish them nothing but the best on this new stage in their lives.

We  look forward on metting IMG-20150221-WA0012Valentina, but on the meantime here is a picture of her:

Ileana´s Shower

We are all SO excited for Ileana & Axxel. They will be welcoming a baby girl by the end of February, and of course we wouldn´t  miss the opportunity to celebrate their joy with them.

Ileana looked so happy and the homeowners also had a very nice time at the potluck party that was held at lunch time in the Arroyo Seco area  back in January 15th.

Baby VALENTINA (what a beautiful name isn´t?), is soon to come and there is no more than positive thoughts on our way for the three of them. She is expected to arrive by February 21st, so we promise to have all  the scoop and details for all of you!!

Big thanks to Tony Stevens, who made sure to capture with his camera all of the special moments.DSC00822 DSC00800 DSC00784 DSC00774 DSC00768 DSC00757

Second Annual La Jolla Golf Classic

The second annual La Jolla Golf Classic was held on January 31st.  In spite of the wind and rain (in the Baja?), 16 golfers braved the elements to compete in a scramble format. The winning team with a score of -3 was: Jim O´Neil, Tony Mahon, Jim Abramoff, and Jim (Doc) Dewar.

An interesting addition this year was a team of ladies who gaily arrived decked out in  bright POWER T-shirts and white visors. While the men concentrated on every shot and eyed each putt very carefully, the ladies sallied around the course enjoying refreshments, taking photos, and visiting with the condo owners along the golf course.

After the golf was concluded the players, spouses, and friends gathered in the Arroyo Seco for refreshments, snacks, and the presentation of prizes. (Sorry no new cars presented).

A special thank-you for the volunteers, Bill Shurtleff, Ray Robertson, Lori Guichon, Dave Hanson, John Webster, Lou Karpinski, Shirley Webster, and Barb Abramoff.

Everyone had a great time and vowed to make next year´s event bigger and better. There is even a rumour out there that a second ladie´s team will be joining us next year!GOLFERSHATladies
